Orangewood Children and Family Center (OCFC) is a safe, 24-hour emergency shelter in Orange County for children who have faced abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Managed by the County of Orange Social Services Agency and licensed by the California Department of Social Services, OCFC provides essential temporary care, offering a stable and supportive environment during difficult times.
At the heart of OCFC is a committed community of over 250 volunteers who generously share their time and talents to enrich the lives of the children. Whether organizing creative activities or teaching sports, music, and art, these volunteers play a vital role in nurturing an atmosphere of hope, healing, and personal growth.
OCFC provides essential services for children ages newborns to 17 years old, including food, shelter, clothing, education, and supervision. Beyond safety and care, volunteers and community supporters, such as La Casa, enhance the children’s experiences with activities like field trips, cultural events, and even a special High School Prom for teens, ensuring the children feel joy, connection, and a sense of belonging.
With the ongoing support of organizations like La Casa, OCFC offers more than just protection—it provides a place where children can experience love, care, and healing, building hope for a brighter future.
